Horseshoe Bay. Bermuda

Happy Friday guys! I am back with a new shoot from Bermuda! I wanted to dedicate a whole post to its beautiful Horseshoe Bay beach and talk about Bermuda’s famous pink sands and turquoise water.

We were very lucky to be staying just 5-10 min away from this well known beach. It’s called Horseshoe Bay for it’s shape and is probably the most famous beach on the island. While doing my research on Bermuda prior to our trip, I learned that it has spectacular pink sands and unbelievably blue/turquoise water. In the modern Instagram ‘language’ – it’s basically #nofilter beautiful! I could not wait to see it for myself! And so this was the first place we came to shoot at.

Let me start by assuring you that I didn’t do any dramatic colour changes in post-production, neither did I add any saturation to these pictures. This is how blue that water is! And can you see the soft hint of pink in the sand? How stunning is this place?! I went into the water (warmest ever!) and could not believe that this view is not photoshopped. I think this shoot and experience left one of the strongest impressions on me and, if I close my eyes, I can still remember how it looked and felt to be there. It’s like nowhere I have been before.

Now, you may wonder why is the sand pink? It’s the result of millions of tiny red sea creatures, such as clams and mollusks that have been crushed by the waves of the mid-Atlantic ocean. So when they wash up on the beach, they blend with the sand, turning it an amazing pink colour.

I am going to be showing you the views of the water from different parts of the island and you will see that with each new location the blue colour is always a bit different yet still breathtaking! So stay with me for more updates.
