Jumby Bay, A Rosewood Resort, Antigua

written by Julia Lundin June 2, 2017
As you remember from my previous post, I was telling you all about the fantastic time I had in St.Barths. But my Caribbean adventure didn’t finish there and it’s time to tell you all about Jumby Bay, A Rosewood resort in Antigua where the amount of ‘wows’ I said just could not be counted!

Jumpy Bay, A Rosewood Resort is known to be the finest resort in Caribbean. It’s located on a private island and can only be reached by a boat. There are no cars there and guests use bicycles to get around. And it must also be the safest place on Earth because it has a keyless policy, meaning that you get no keys when you check in, meaning you don’t lock your room when you aren’t there, meaning that there is just nothing to worry about! Wow!

Jumby Bay, A Rosewood Resort featuring 40 stunning rooms and luxury villas as well as private estate homes spread across the island and all just steps away from the beautiful white beaches and the clearest of waters. I woke up early in the morning to take my bike around the island and have a little tour of this paradise. And all along I kept having this thought at the back of my mind – I never thought I’d find myself cycling on a private island in the Caribbean! Armed with a Jumby Bay map and my camera I had the most fun time exploring the island’s pathways, it’s herb garden and saying hello to local chicken and sheep. Oh and a special note about sheep is that they are free to wander wherever they want during the day before they all come back to the same place in the night. As someone on the island said: ‘If I were to come back as an animal in my next life, I’d like to be a Jumby Bay sheep.’

Jumby has several restaurant and bars for you to choose from. I had the most delicious fish taco and guacamole at The Pool Grille for lunch and would very much like to come back for more of that! And let me mention the spectacular dinner setting that we were surprised by one evening. It was set on the beach, right by the water and looked so classy and romantic! And the food! It was another wow!

And now let me share with you some of the images from my tour of some of the estate homes on the island. Be prepared to not believe your eyes at the beauty and luxury that those places embody. They are all privately own but are available for rent when the owners are away. Those properties are all uniquely designed and range between 6,000 sq.ft to 25,000 sq.ft and go up to $25,000 per night during the peak season. So here we go.

I could truly see myself staying in Jumby Bay for a long time because being there allows you to completely relax, distance yourself from your every day worries and recharge your system. There is more than enough space for everyone to find privacy while still being just a walk or a bike ride away from the restaurants, bars and the beach. It’s as good as it gets! And everyone must experience it!

Thank you Jumby Bay for having me! I am your biggest fan now!
