How to wear a silk robe

FIRST AND FOREMOST, THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR A GREAT RESPONSE TO MY NEW BLOG DESIGN! MUCH APPRECIATED ♥

LOCATION

I wanted to visit London’s famous Kew Gardens for years and years, and I have no explanation or excuse to why it took me so long, as it only takes less than an hour travel, but that’s the story. We have finally decided to do it last Monday (which is probably one of the better days of the week for it, as it’s way less crowded than weekends or even other days of the week). I’ve done lots of online research to find out which places to prioritise in case we run out of time on the day. And it’s good that I did as we only managed to cover a tiny bit of the huge territory in 4-5 hours that we had. But we did visit two main buildings that I had my eyes on. One of them, Palm House, I am going to show you in this post. You have probably seen pictures from here on your Instagram feeds before, but what no one tells you is just how humid it is there. It’s like stepping into a tropical rainforest or a steam room. Few minutes in and my make up was melting all over my face, but the location is totally worth it! I have been so into everything tropical recently (probably because of my recent travels to Carribean) that being amongst these palm trees teleported me to a happy, holiday-like state of mind.

OUTFIT

I really wanted my outfit to complement the location and nothing could have done the job better than my embroidered silk robe made from the vintage fabric gifted to me by my grandmother. The trend of wearing silk robes out and about is still going strong and it’s such a statement piece that it takes a simple tee and shorts combo to a whole new level. Don’t you agree? It also resulted in me merging with the surroundings and turning these pictures in a bit of a ‘Where’s Wally’ scenario.

Oh yes, we have a similar type of place in Helsinki and it’s SUPER humid and “tight” inside. 😀
You did an amazing job once again with the photos and the outfit, love that robe!
