{My} AW17 trends

written by Julia Lundin October 1, 2017

The new season is here. And while the nature is gradually changing its colour I am trying out current new trends in fashion (and adding just a few of my own of course).

OVERSIZED TRENCH

It was a part of many catwalks back in February (Vetements, Topshop and Celine to name a few) and now it’s widely available across the majority of the high street brands. Think your classic trench, but way more oversized and a bit scruffier. If you can’t find one in the shape and cut that you want, try buying it in a bigger size. My Zara find has it all – the detachable hoodie and the correct shape. And it literally goes with everything. Especially with the statement boots, which is the next big AW17 trend I’d like to talk to you about.

STATEMENT BOOTS

The more statement your boots make this season – the better. I have so far added three new pairs to my collection (some are red and some are green) but it’s these velvet and suede booties that stand out to me the most. What I love about this trend is that it encourages you to step outside your comfort zone (which often means choosing a pair of black footwear for autumn/winter ) and buy something fun. Make them long or short, printed or single-coloured, just be brave and don’t be boring.

LUXURY DESIGNER BAG

Now, I can’t really claim that it’s the actual global trend, but it is rather something that I made a decision to do this season. I decided to invest into a truly luxurious bag and it was a long and careful process of picking exactly what I wanted. And the result is this latest bag from Fendi that I found on Farfetch. It’s a truly gorgeous piece that is sure to stay with me for years to come. That was one of my criteria while choosing the bag – I wanted it to last. I wanted it to be a new classic. And this beauty has it all.

CONFIDENCE

And lastly, one more very important trend this and every season is to have confidence to wear anything you want the way you want it. Follow the trends but make them your own. Go outside your comfort zone and be brave. Wear an open back Stella McCartney crop top in the middle of Brooklyn Bridge. Don’t be self conscious or shy. Make statements with your outfits and let the world know who you are.
