Club Marvy

This was my first ever trip to Turkey and I started it the marvellous way in Club Marvy!

This beautiful resort is located near Izmir, in the bay of the Aegean Sea. It’s a very new resort with an innovative holiday/lifestyle concept making it unique in Turkey. Club Marvy’s motto is ‘Be Marvellous’ and they have put a lot of effort, care and attention to making you feel exactly like that both during your stay and after.

With most of Club Marvy’s produce being home-grown on their own farm (including their own olive oil and wine), as well as their organically made skin care and home accessories (including bath products, sheets, towels and robes) – these kinds of details enhance the experience, give everything a very personal and caring touch and give you a glimpse at where the hotel industry all over the world should be heading.

Two pools, two beaches, several restaurants, an amazing SPA and a full-sized aqua park as well as lush nature, magical landscape and friendly people – you are guaranteed to find exactly what your heart and soul desire each day and hour in Club Marvy. Whether you are there for a holistic, well-being focused stay or want to have fun doing water sports, it’s all there for you.

I had the most unforgettable experiences in Club Marvy. It started on our first evening there, during the outdoor dinner at Steak House, when, suddenly, the thunderstorm and rain came, yet we were determined to just wait outside for it to finish, hoping that it won’t force us to relocate inside. We were defeated and running to the dry safety of the mill house a few minutes later. This fun experience and our endless laughter left so many good memories in my head and the views of the almost non-stop lightning over the sea were truly mesmerising.

Then there was the Turkish hammam experience – my first one of a kind. Guys, if you ever have a chance to do this, I highly recommend it. It will make you rethink your usual way of bathing and you will feel like you’ve never been cleaner in your life. Followed by a full body massage, that memory is a bliss!

Oh and then there was the most amazing and huge food buffet with a great choice of dishes. Turkish food is famous for being tasty and healthy. It’s mostly made of grill meats or fish and lots of salads which is my exact flavour palette down to a T. So when I saw that there is a salad making Chef, we became friends very quickly, haha.

We were also very lucky to be in Club Marvy for the celebration of Hidirellez – the arrival of Spring. It’s such a pure holiday with beautiful traditions, like writing your wish down and tying it on to a wish (often rose) tree. Then, next morning, before the sunrise, you need to take your wish and send it into the sea for it to come true (we replaced paper with rose petals in Club Marvy). The evening was full of festive food, live music, dancing and lots of positive vibes in the air.
