My third time in the Maldives. I never thought I’d be able to say something like that. As far as exotic destinations go – the Maldives are at the very top of that list and, for me, to be able to create so many memories there is just out of this world amazing. So, let me tell you about the resort that I stayed in last week. It’s called OZEN BY ATMOSPHERE at MAADHOO and it’s very close to what one might consider a paradise on earth.
Surrounded by the signature Maldivian blues of the Indian Ocean, Ozen by Atmosphere resort is located on its own island and offers its guests a choice of water and beach villas, six restaurants, a SPA & Wellness complex and a great assortment of water sports and activities.
I stayed in one of the water villas which has its own pool and a staircase straight into the ocean as well as an over-the-water hammock, sunbathing terrace and the best sunset views. Being able to call this place my ‘home’ for the few days I was there was pretty bonkers if you ask me.
People sometimes ask me whether it can get boring in the Maldives given that there isn’t much to sightsee or even be able to leave the island. My answer is always: ‘Not at all!’. I assume, once you pick Maldives as your holiday destination you are into a chilled, beach holiday rather than a busy city break and that’s exactly what you will get while on the island. A place where great weather is pretty much guaranteed, where the food is amazing and if you want to be active, you can indulge in many different water sports as well as the breathtaking sunset dolphin cruises. And if you really want to explore Maldives, you can do a day trip to one of their local islands to see the hustle and bustle of a traditional Maldivian town.
ACTIVITIES I’VE DONE IN THE OZEN BY ATMOSPHERE:
- Sunset cycling tour of the island
- Sunrise yoga on the boat
- Boat trip to the local island Maafushi
- Snorkelling boat trip (I don’t snorkel, but had a lovely sunbathing session on the boat while waiting for the others)
- Lunch in the underwater restaurant
- Friday gala dinner with live band
- 1 hour massage in the ELENA SPA
- Sunset dolphin cruise
- BBQ beach dinner
- Cocktail masterclass
Add to that 3 amazing meals a day, an afternoon by the pool with endless Ice Lattes and that’s how your Maldivian days tend to look like. Not too bad, ha?!
Some of the wonderful things I’ve experienced and seen during this trip will forever remain in my memory. I’m talking about seeing dolphins with their babies in their natural habitat, standing in the ocean surrounded by the exotic, colourful fish, dining in an underwater restaurant, seeing manta-rays in the water while walking back to my villa or even having a water check-in upon my arrival to the resort.
Thank you, Ozen by Atmosphere for having me and showing me what a week in paradise should look like. Thank you for taking such great care of me and making me feel so welcomed. And for all of you, guys, planning or considering a trip to Maldives, my main advice is to soak every moment of it in, leave the stress and problems of your daily life behind and feel that air, sun and water, see those stars in the sky and don’t forget to wear a strong SPF!
And if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to ask me in the comments below.
