Hey guys! Long time no blog. I feel like it’s about time I make blogging regular again, what do you think?
My recent trip to Portugal made me want to not only update my website, but also to film a vlog (which you’ll be able to find at the end of this post).
Do you know how they say that you attract what you think and talk about and I guess my interest in the minimal, neutral aesthetics in both fashion and design attracted an invite to visit Douro41 Hotel & Spa. One look at their website and Instagram made me want to dive into its’ stylish surroundings and, to be honest, to feel inspired again.
The London-Porto flight takes just under 2 hours, which makes it such an easy getaway and one that can be so memorable. Sadly, we didn’t get to see Porto at all, but will absolutely come back and stay in the town because I have heard endless praises and recommendations about it. Upon landing we took a 50 minutes car ride along the Douro river and right on it’s 41st kilometre we checked into the Douro41 Hotel & Spa.
Part of the Design Hotels, Douro41 Hotel & Spa is located in the Douro region, famous for its breathtaking landscapes and wine and is perfectly integrated into the natural surroundings of the valley. With 56 rooms, 5 suites, a spa, two panoramic swimming pools, a restaurant and a bar, Douro41 is a perfect place to escape to, refocus, calm your mind and become one with the nature.
The hotel features modern, minimalist lines, a combination of natural light and contemporary design, neutral tones and an architecture which enhances the Douro River’s beauty.
We enjoyed the Spa, ate well, took hundreds of pictures, rested from a hectic London lifestyle and made a promise to visit the place again in the summer when we would be able to take the boat out and explore the area while sun is shining. And until then, we have this post to remind us of our great time away.
