Welcome to The Bale – our second villa in Bali. I am going to start the series of posts from here with this shoot that will show you the surroundings of the resort and later will introduce you to our private villa. After leaving Kayumanis we stayed in Nusa Dua area for a couple more days in this gorgeous boutique resort. It’s architecture immediately blew me away. It was so grand with clean lines and intricate designs that I could straight away imagine how very photogenic it would be. And just look at the results, this place is gorgeous!

I’ve been keeping this Acne dress without shooting it for almost 2 years now waiting for the perfect backdrop for it. Stepping into the white beauty of The Bale I knew that I could finally do this dress justice. It all clicked together straight away and I’m very happy with how this shoot turned out.

But let me tell you a little behind-the-scene scoop too. We were shooting this at midday when the sun was the most unforgiving and if only you knew how hard it was to keep my eyes opened and to keep my face and hair from melting down. Things we do for the perfect shot:)

I hope you enjoy these pictures guys and come back soon this week for more stories from The Bale.

Happy Sunday guys! How’s your weekend? I had so much fun attending Hairfinity launch party with Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian yesterday! You can take a look at the pictures from the event on my Instagram (@julialundinblog). There’s even my selfie with Khloe! She was so nice and friendly and I’m glad I got the chance to meet her.

So this is a last post from our first villa in Bali. I’ve showed you the pool area and the general surroundings of the Kayumanis Nusa Dua resort already and wanted to end with a peek into the actual villa plus some beautiful sunset pictures from the Kayumanis private beach. One thing that was a first for me, but apparently very common in Bali, was the outside showers (you can see a bit of it in one of the pictures below). It’s such a good idea giving how warm it is all year round and it just feels so refreshing. As I mentioned in my previous posts, Kayumanis means cinnamon so all the bathroom creams, gels and shampoos smells of it. And there is something about this smell that makes you feel very relaxed and peaceful. What a perfect choice!

So once again I want to thank Kayumanis Nusa Dua Private Villa & Spa for welcoming us! We had the best time!

In the next post we are moving to our second villa! Stay tuned.

Here we go with the “Bali Honeymoon, Episode 2′ already! Not sure how many episodes this season will have but hopefully enough for you all to fall in love with this place and possibly put it on the list for your must-visit places in the world. So in this post I will continue showing you Kayumanis Nusa Dua Private Villa & Spa and talking about our experience there.

As I mentioned in the previous post this was our first ‘home’ in Bali and also my first private pool ever so it shouldn’t come as a surprise when I tell you that I spent every free minute swimming. It took me one day of this luxury to start wondering how I had ever managed to go through life without my own private pool, haha;) So I wanted to show you my ‘aqua world’  and the rest of the Kayumanis Nusa Dua surroundings. You might notice that I haven’t shot anything inside our villa yet, that’s because there will be a whole separate post dedicated to it later.

It’s also worth mentioning that during our first days in Bali we wanted to mostly chill, enjoy our villas and not do much at all. We decided to keep all sight-seeing and cultural activities for the second week of the trip. And I think it was a good decision as we didn’t need to stress or run and at the same time managed to get so much useful information about where we should go from the local people that we knew exactly what to do when the time came. I can only say one word – ‘monkeys’!!! But more about that a bit later:)

Tips and notes:

– Bali has beautiful beaches but you’ll never see too many people tanning or swimming there. Everyone tends to enjoy pools more (at least that’s what I noticed)

– While in your private pool do funny aqua aerobics together and film it! You’ll never laugh so hard!

Enjoy! xo

Happy Monday everyone! How was your weekend? I have to admit that I didn’t attend any Halloween parties but nevertheless I still enjoyed seeing all the elaborate costumes flooding my social media feeds. Who did you dress up as?

So here we are at my first (out of many) posts from Bali and I’m going to try and not forget anything that I wanted to share with you. Even though it might be a bit hard as we had so many adventures and every day brought a lot of new emotions and experiences. After two weeks of a non-stop excitement the one thing that will always stay in my memory is that Bali is a paradise and I’m hoping to go back there many more times.

But let’s start from the beginning. As I mentioned in a short note right before we left, we have teamed up with the amazing The Luxe Nomad who helped us organise the honeymoon of our dreams. Our plan was to stay in Bali for two weeks and explore it’s different parts via five different hotels and villas. At first I was a bit worried about this plan as I’m mostly used to spending my holidays in one place without needing to relocate. But I knew that The Luxe Nomad team wouldn’t suggest this if it wasn’t great. And I decided to trust their experience and after almost 18 hours in the air we landed in Bali.

First thing that I got really excited about was the climate. We landed at 10pm and it was +27 degrees outside and very very humid. But the surprising part was that I got used to this humidity so quickly that it never caught my attention again. Already the next morning I couldn’t believe it’s October and that back home is freezing. God, Balinese people are lucky! Throughout our stay the temperature rose up to +31 during days and we never got any rain. Just perfect!

First on our itinerary was the Kayumanis Nusa Dua Private Villa & Spa. We were greeted at the airport by their driver who took us there while telling us a bit about Bali on the way. I was so excited to see the resort with my own eyes after spending so much time looking at it online and the reality exceeded my expectations. Let’s start by saying that I have never stayed or been to a private villa before. I felt my legs going all woozy at the sight of our beautiful private pool and two most gorgeous rooms. We soon learned that Kayumanis means cinnamon and the entire resort had cinnamon-coloured decor which I now think of as the most relaxing and peaceful one. I am going to show you a bit of Kayumanis surroundings in this post followed by more detailed descriptions in the several upcoming ones.

These first pictures are from our first breakfast in Bali which took place at the Kayumanis private beach while watching the sunrise. Nusa Dua is the area where this hotel is located and slowly I will explain to you all about the differences between this and other areas in Bali but what you have to know for now is that Nusa Dua is perfect for people who want to have a relaxing time, enjoying spa treatments and yoga exercises all while surrounded by beautiful nature and peaceful beaches. This area is perfect for honeymooners like us and provides endless number of romantic activities. So when Kayumanis asked if we’d be willing to have a 6am breakfast on the beach we had to do it. It was a first for me and it was so magical and breathtaking. Even though I grew up 15 minutes drive from the beach it never occurred to me to wake up early and go see the sunrise. Note to all of you. If you have an opportunity to ever do this, do it! Bring a little picnic along, take a camera and witness this beauty.

So I hope you enjoy these pictures and in the end of each Bali post I’d like to make little notes of all the things I learned and that I’d like you to know:

– Balinese people are the most friendly and helpful people I ever met. I mean all of them (apart from one grumpy taxi driver)

– I wasn’t struggling with jet lag in Bali at all (I did when I got back to London though)

– Balinese men have interesting naming system and once you learn to understand it you will always know which child in the family (first, second or third) they are

– The mot beautiful frangipani trees are everywhere in Bali (and everywhere in my posts, you’ll see)

It’s been almost a week since my last post and the reason for my radio silence is the fact that I have spent this past week in Sweden. We went partly on a holiday and partly to meet some exciting brands and discuss our possible work together in the future. I absolutely love Scandinavian fashion and feel like it’s very ‘me’ so hopefully I will be able to introduce you to more of it soon.

This look was shot in beautiful Norrkoping where Patrik is from and which we visit several times a year. I like it there as it’s very calm, pretty and reminds me of my own hometown a lot.  A year ago I already made a post about it and looking back it makes me realise how quickly time flies. I picked this all black look with a pop of orange because I felt that the town should show off its colours without me distracting from it. And can you believe that I had this top since school? It was already exiled into the suitcase once along with other stuff I never wear anymore and it seems like it found its way back. And I still like it!

Now let’s talk about London Fashion Week. I am going to show you as much of it as I can, there are many shows, presentations and parties to attend every day. Keep up with my schedule on Instagram (@julialundinblog) and expect some blog posts next week.

This is my last post from the weekend in Luxembourg. I have already told you about a Formula 1 gala dinner that I attended and about the city itself. So one last thing that I want to show you is the beautiful sky bar located on the top floor of our Sofitel Le Grand Ducal hotel.

Being on the 8th floor this bar is a perfect place to overlook the city and admire its beauty. Every day throughout our stay started with a breakfast accompanied by a stunning view. And every evening before heading out we would stop for yet another delicious cocktail. Cool fact about this particular cocktail that we shot for the post was that it appeared to be listed amongst the best creations of the most talented mixologists in Luxembourg. Imagine my surprise when during our flight back to London I read about it in the Flydoscope magazine.

I am wearing a beautiful Catherine Deane dress that has a special ‘feel good’ factor to it. I had it for a few months now but was waiting for an appropriate occasion and location to make its first appearance. Once I found out about this trip the first item that was mentally packed was this dress. Something about its very soft and gentle fabrics make me feel like it was made for me and my body type. Pencil dresses like this can be quite tight and restraining, but its not the case here. And it was also a first time that I wore my Jimmy Choos after my wedding. Just looking at them makes me smile and remember that magical day.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend and please make sure to enter my GIVEAWAY for a chance to win some Juicy Couture goodies. It’s opened worldwide so spread the word!

This a second post out of three that we’ve shot in Luxembourg. I have already shown you our hotel room and gala dinner here and now I’d like to introduce you to Luxembourg City.

On Saturday we had a free afternoon to go and explore the beautiful Luxembourgish surroundings. What a lovely and unique city! As you will see in these pictures it’s mostly old buildings located on several levels with a lot of bridges and caves. I have never seen anything like this before. Some buildings are actually built into the caves! Luxembourg has a population of 590.000 (according to Wikipedia) so it’s nowhere near as busy as London. Still you can see a lot of tourists especially in the very centre of the city. It has a great variety of restaurants and shops too. We’ve explored both:)

I chose a very comfortable and very ‘me’ outfit for the day. It was actually a bit too warm to wear a leather jacket but with clouds coming and going I wanted to make sure that I won’t be caught off guard if the temperature suddenly drops. My favourite part of this look was my Guess arm-party consisting of their denim watch and a bracelet. That watch is literally on my wrist every day!

Hope you enjoy this post and let me know if you’ve also been to Luxembourg. Would love to hear your thoughts about it!

Hi everyone! I am back home after a very exciting weekend away. If you follow me on social media you probably know that I have spent the last weekend in Luxembourg. The reason for this trip was to attend the Lotus Formula 1 team charity gala dinner and Roadshow. I had so much fun, got to experience what the F1 paddock and cars are like and to meet F1 driver Romain Grosjean and test driver Nicholas Prost. The whole weekend was so great, from my hotel and the city itself to fantastic meals and parties. We stayed at the Sofitel Le Grand Ducal hotel and it’s interior made me jump of excitement! I honestly was restraining myself from wanting to constantly Instagram and share with you all the cool details that was surrounding me. I mean, our bath products were Hermes, how much fancier can it get? All in all, I loved Luxembourg and hope I can visit it again in the future.

Now let me tell you about this beautiful red dress that I wore for the gala dinner. I wanted to wear something fabulous and although I have a couple of dresses that would suit the occasion, my heart was asking for something I have never worn before. This is where the very helpful team from Chic By Choice dress rental website saved me by offering me to choose a dress from their huge selection. Oh my, it wasn’t an easy choice! Imagine pages and pages of designer dresses and every single one is so beautiful that it takes your breath away. I finally decided to wear this Roland Mouret gown simply because I have never seen myself in a red gown before and I thought it would be a nice show stopper. I am so grateful to Chic By Choice for their amazingly personal services in choosing the right size and fit for my body type and for generally having a super helpful website! You can hire expensive designer dresses for VERY affordable money.

I am going to show you more posts from Luxembourg soon. I want you to see how unique and beautiful this country and city is so stay tuned. Oh and have a lovely September guys!
