Welcome to my new blog! Welcome to my wedding! Finally I can share with you something that has been in my memories since April, 25th and was always meant to be revealed along with this new step in my blogging career – an absolutely new website, new design and a new name! Now you, as well as me, need to get used to knowing me as Julia Lundin. Changing the blog name was a big decision for me and I hope it proves to be a good one!
And so my wedding!!! It’s quite difficult to put the happiness and excitement of that day into words. It was by far the most perfect and happy day of my life. We didn’t have to travel far to find the most idyllic location just outside London, a tiny island surrounded by the river Thames, called The Monkey Island. Its beauty, and even the peacocks living there, were screaming for an outdoor ceremony which we were all set for and it was just up to the weather to make it happen. Unfortunately, it rained all day on our wedding so we had to have it all inside. Rain didn’t ruin anything for us though and I do believe that rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck. Also, my dress would probably have been slightly ruined had I been walking on the grass. By the way, let me tell you how easy it was for me to find my dress! In general, I had a “no stress” approach during the entire wedding preparations, so I wasn’t panicking about finding the dress either (Patrik started to question my calmness though, worrying I’ll have nothing to wear on my wedding day). So one day I just made my first ever appointment at the store and went in without any ideas of the styles that I wanted. Actually one thing I always thought was that I would probably not have a big princess gown. So a shop assistant brought me six different dresses. This dress was the first one I ever tried and the other five just weren’t ‘wow’ enough after it. So surprise, surprise, I left the shop with the dress in my hands. Easy! You know how they say that you’ll know it when you see it? It’s true! The other truth is that you are most likely to end up choosing the opposite of what you were thinking of. Now let’s talk shoes! I have to admit that I had decided not to buy new shoes, knowing that under my big dress no one will ever see them. I also had a pair of nude courts that I was comfortable enough to spend a whole day in. And then the fairy tale moment happened and after an appointment to preview a new Jimmy Choo collection, lovely Jimmy Choo girls learned about my upcoming wedding and gifted me a pair of the most beautiful Cinderella heels! And so I said #IDoInChoo and that’s the pair that will forever remind me of this special day! So there you go, a very short recap of the best day ever! And you know what? I might be weird, but I was never nervous, not prior nor during the day! I was just so happy and so excited!
I’m gonna leave you now to look through this small selection of pictures from my wedding day and really hope you enjoy them.
And please let me know what you think about my new blog! Unfortunately I couldn’t transfer all your comments from the previous posts, so please comment away.
