If you follow me on Instagram you know that yesterday I went for a new hair style with the help of Toni&Guy and promised to show you the process today. So here it is – a detailed visual summary of what went down yesterday at North Audley street Toni&Guy SalonTouch Studio salon. I’m very happy with the results and can’t wait to experiment with new possibilities that my new look gives me. But let me tell you how I came to the decision to change my hair…
If you’ve been following me for quite a while you probably remember my previous transformation from long hair to a layered long bob. That was a huge step for me and I never regretted my decision. Ever since I got rid of my long hair, day to day styling became much easier and didn’t require much effort at all. But that was back in May and my haircut lost its shape and I started thinking about what I should do next. And I realised that I want to look different. Whether by cutting my hair or colouring it. And here came the long Pinterest researches and mood boards (you can see them here). I was trying to figure out what would really change my look and getting a fringe popped into my mind. I used to have a long, full, straight cut fringe about six years ago and even though I enjoyed it back then, it was also a nightmare to look after (growing it out was a mission too). But many years went since then, my hair changed and I started thinking that I might be ready to have bangs again. After I set my mind to it I got another dilemma – the colour. I have been enjoying being back to my natural hair colour for a while and after trying almost everything (blonde, brunette, caramel) before I came to an opinion that I look my best with the colour as close to my natural as possible. So I didn’t feel like dying all of it, but I definitely wanted a bit of a change. That’s when I started thinking of a balayage technique (which is something between highlights and ombre) as that was the most natural and mild option and I went for it.
To be honest I couldn’t completely make up my mind right until already sitting in the salon and getting a top professional advice from the international artistic director of Toni&Guy, Maria Galati, who assured me that the long fringe and balayage were the right choice. So we did it and I’m glad I was brave enough to go for a full fringe as I feel like a new version of me now and can’t wait to show you how I’m planning to work it into my daily life and looks.
So if you are doubting whether to change something about your hair or not, I say go for it! It’s just hair, it will grow back and it’s never a better time to play and experiment with it than now!
