LFW AW15. Day 4. Let it Rain!

written by Julia Lundin February 26, 2015

Let it rain! The title explains it all. This day of London Fashion Week was so wet and windy that all I can say is bravo to the amazing photographer Victoria Metaxas for braving this extreme weather conditions and producing such great and fun pictures!

The day started quite dry though so I had an opportunity to attend an Issa show without needing to run and hide under every available roof. In fact it seemed so misleading in the morning that I decided to leave an umbrella at home (huge mistake). Scroll down to see some shots from the show. It took place in a beautiful location that complemented the gorgeous clothes perfectly.

After that it was time for the most anticipated show of every season – Topshop Unique which always makes me want to start a shopping wish list to use later in the year when the collection hits the stores. It is also one of the most star-studded shows of LFW, with supermodels heading up either a catwalk or a front row like it happened this season. Right after the show was finished I have met Victoria to shoot this look and that’s when the weather collapse began. We quickly realised that this won’t be just your normal photoshoot where you stand and look whichever way you want. This time the outcome was controlled by the strongest wind and rain. And you know what? I had so much fun (which you can probably see from these pictures). My hair and skirt were flying, I was wet but in the end we got one of the most charismatic of my shoots ever. And just to let you know, this was the driest of my moments till the end of the day as the weather went from bad to worse. To be honest my Louboutin boots didn’t survive this very well and are in a need of some serious repairing.

My outfit consisted of a dress by Ginger and Smart paired with the warm Bosideng jacket and wedged Louboutin boots. I thought that it’s going to be my warmest look of the entire fashion week, but thanks to the wind I was wrong. Nevertheless, I loved the combination of the sporty puffer jacket and the unusual cut of the dress.

Thanks again to the brilliant Victoria for braving the weather and working with me that day! What do you guys think of this look?

Julia x

These pictures are so fun! I imagine how difficult it must be to shoot in such weather conditions!

Your outfit is just perfect; I really like the way you’ve put these pieces together!:)

Love your look, was shot beautifully despite the rain! I was silly enough to wear open toe shoes which I will not do again in February! x

Sooooo jealous you were at London Fashion Week!! Plus, amazing photos. You and your photographer were definitely troopers to brave the weather you described! I would have been such a pain to shoot if I were in your position haha. I’m such a complainer when it’s cold! But you definitely don’t show that you’re cold at all, which isn’t easy to do… You look fabulous! <3
