Hey guys! On this very (very!) rainy day in London I have decided to share with you some pictures from my recent trip to one of the biggest and greatest zoos I have ever been to. I am talking about the Kolmarden zoo in Sweden. I guess the most exciting part about it is that it’s located inside the forest and occupies a huge territory. This means that animals seem (and hopefully are) happy, lot of them have babies and they aren’t obviously restricted by gates, fences or cages. It’s probably as close as it gets to their real environments while still being in a zoo.
Majority of the territory is walkable but some of it you observe from the cable car that takes you high above the trees. This way you see lions, giraffes, bears and other animals without disturbing them at all.
We came on a really hot day and I think some of the animals were hiding in the shades or sleeping (like that lions family below) so we did’t get to see them in ‘action’. In any case it was a wonderful day out and I am definitely coming back!
