How to wear a see-through dress

Hey, ladies! Have you ever been confused by a beautiful yet completely see-through dress? I know I have! And I think it is time to figure out how to wear it, what’s appropriate and what’s not. So here we go!

I received this stunning chiffon J.Lindeberg dress during London Fashion Week and the moment I saw it I knew that it will have to be my outfit for the Topshop Unique show. Unique always being my favourite show to attend in London, I always try and keep my favourite outfit for that day as well. So I wanted to wear this dress and yet (like a big elephant in the room) – it was completely see-through. I know I struggled with this issue in the past where I just couldn’t make something transparent work for me. But this time, I was determined!

So my thoughts on the see-through outfits are the following:

– they show creativity and great style when they are worn well
– they should never be worn with just an underwear underneath
– when done wrong they will make you look cheap and trashy

And in order to avoid the undesired effects and paying this beautiful dress some respect, I picked a simple black t-shirt and a pair of soft shorts with a lace trimming to wear underneath. I basically wanted nothing under the dress to attract any attention and not to seem naked while still showing some skin. Voila!

Tip: a lot of see-through maxi dresses can look great worn over the jeans too!

Oh and with that, this is my last outfit from these fashion weeks. Better late than never, haha:D
